这一幅著名的《秋千》,是装饰性木板油画。就创作时间与艺术风格看,它与杜·巴莉夫人委托的五幅木板油画是完整的一组,都属于1765-1772年间完成的作品。《秋千》一画描绘的是浮华贵族少年藏在树丛里偷看小姐荡秋千的场景:
