我省是全国工夫红茶的主产区,年产红茶近万吨,所产祁门工夫红茶已有一百多年历史,是我国传统名牌产品。它外形紧细,锋秒秀丽,色泽乌润,汤色红艳,叶底红亮,滋味鲜醇酣厚,独特的“祁门香”香高持久,被誉为“茶中英豪”曾先后于1915年和1987年二次荣获国际金奖,1980年和1985年又二次蝉联国优金奖,蜚声中外。安徽东至、石台、贵池产的工夫红茶品质优异,也赢得了国内外广大用户喜爱。但是,近年来一些不利提高茶叶品质的做法使茶叶出现条索粗壮、香味低淡、叶底青暗等问题,给精制加工、出口拼配带来了困难。主要表现:
