当前,对于第四纪冰期及其划分,随着冰期旋回研究的深入而面临某些需要重新认识的问题.从冰川地质学的观点来看,各个冰期和间冰期的地貌过程,受到构造运动和气候变化的双重控制,在时空分布上具有易于识别的宏观规律性.所以,有人认为,濒临危机的经典的冰期概念及其研究,正在遵照自身在理论上和实践上的要求继续发展.笔者拟以进一步研究北京地区的第四纪冰期系列为基础,提出构造-气候旋回的概念,作为我们新的探索的起点.(图1)
