水杉(Metaseguoia glypeostzoboides Hu et cheng)是我国的特产、珍贵树种,一向被称为“活化石”.为高大落叶乔木,高可达35米,树干通直,树冠尖塔形,树形优美。耐轻碱,耐水湿,少病虫害、适应性强、生长迅速,能无性繁殖。木材轻软,易加工.不仅是优良的速生用材树种,也是名贵的四旁、院庭绿化树种.我们于一九五八年开始水杉引种栽培试验,现将其生长情况归纳如下:
