Just like the WNBA after the NBA, the US’s “Fortune” magazine started last year to select the top 50 American women in the business world. In the recent “Fortune”, the second selection activity was announced. Carly Fiorina, the current CEO of Hewlett-Packard Co., won the first place; and 17 new candidates, most of whom came from high technology the company. The criterion for “strong woman” is her power, not her qualifications, status, or income. Therefore, whether or not the top 50 candidates can be selected not only depends on the assets and profits she controls, but also depends on them. Internal company power, appeal in the global economy, and influence on culture and society.
