For many years, the public power industry in the United States has been exploring ways to burn rubbish. At present, there are already several public utility companies that first set up power plants that burn rubbish at official enterprises and have them run successfully. More and more coal-fired boilers are or have been using processed waste (RDF) as a secondary fuel. But so far, no public utility company, especially a privately-invested company, has been able to develop a combustion technology that completely burns rubbish like the Northern Power Company of Minneapolis.
