网络管理人员经常需要监测网络的运行状态,测定新的应用程序的运行效果,以保证他们网络的服务品质达到预期的要求,网络监测软件恰恰能够满足这些需求。这些软件被广泛地应用于各个方面,无论是测定特定硬件设备性能,还是一个Web站点的响应时间,都能胜任。与此同时,许多这类软件都提供了类似的核心功能,例如:网络负载测试、HTTP、Telnet、SMTP协议应用程序的跟踪和终端应用程序的响应时间等等。如何实际应用这些功能取决于用户的具体业务和对网络的需求。
Network managers often need to monitor the operation of the network, measure the performance of new applications to ensure that the quality of service in their networks meets their expectations, and network monitoring software is just enough to meet those needs. These software are widely used in all aspects, whether it is to determine the performance of a particular hardware device, or a Web site response time, can be competent.
