赵忠尧(1902~1998),浙江诸暨人,著名原子核物理学家,1925年毕业于东南大学,1927年赴美国留学。1930年获得哲学博士学位后回国,先后在清华大学、云南大学、西南联合大学、中央大学任教。1946年赴美参观原子弹试验后,留美购置核物理实验设备和其他科研器材。1950年回国,在中国科学院近代物理所工作。1958年参与中国科技大学筹建工作,并主持创办国内第一个近代物理系,
Zhao Zhongyao (1902 ~ 1998), Zhejiang Zhuji, a famous nuclear physicist, graduated from Southeast University in 1925, went to the United States in 1927 to study. He returned to China in 1930 after obtaining his doctorate in philosophy and successively taught at Tsinghua University, Yunnan University, Southwest United University and Central University. After visiting the United States for an atomic bomb test in the United States in 1946, the United States purchased nuclear experimental equipment and other scientific research equipment from the United States.
