机顶盒(Set-TopBox,STB)的作用,旨在将从头端设备发射或传输出来、经过压缩的数字信号,进行解调变、解多任务、解压缩等处理后,还原成原始的数字信号,再将其转换为影像与声音的模拟格式。依据不同的广播或传输方式,STB有:地面/卫星/有线广播,以及当红的电信网络“IPSTB”等几种类型。
The purpose of the Set-Top Box (STB) is to transmit or transmit from the head-end equipment, compress the digital signal, perform demodulation, multi-tasking and decompression, and then restore it to the original digital signal, Convert it to an analog format for video and sound.
