Objective To investigate the relationship between angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) I / D gene polymorphism and hypertension with diabetes mellitus. Methods From January to September 2014, 255 cases of hypertensive patients with diabetes mellitus in Affiliated Hospital of Hebei Union University were enrolled as the case group and 574 cases of hypertensive patients as the control group. The ACE I / D gene polymorphism and other factors Bit gene frequency. SPSS 12.0 and STATA 8.0 software for statistical analysis, using t test and χ2 test, P <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results The genotypes of ID, DD were 72 (28.24%), 102 (40.00%) and 81 (31.76%) in the case group and 147 (53.83%) in the control group and 118 20.56%), the difference between the groups was statistically significant (P = 0.001). The frequencies of allele I and D in case group were 246 (48.24%) and 264 (51.76%) respectively in case group and 603 (52.53%) in I group, respectively Gene 545 (47.47%), the difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.107). Conclusions Patients with DD genotype have a higher susceptibility to hypertension with diabetes.
