“The Advent of Stoke” is one of the besties of Australian playwright David Williamson. In a satirical and humorous way, the play depicts a complex sexual relationship between the characters through a series of gag practices that reflect the sexual emancipation of young Australians and the anti-traditional attitudes towards family and marriage in the late 1960s .
