Congestive heart failure (CHF) is the leading cause of death in patients with heart disease. Although new drugs such as angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and non-glycosylated inosines have been published, diuretics have remained active in the treatment of CHF Important role. Side effects of long-term use of diuretics are well known, and furosemide-induced thiamine deficiency has been reported in animal experiments and clinical observations. Thiamine deficiency itself can damage the work of the heart, so the purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term use of furosemide in patients with CHF leading to the incidence and importance of thiamine deficiency.
