For the bridge and structural engineering community, I am afraid there is no more challenging task than designing and constructing a suitable permanent bridge on the Strait of Gibraltar. In fact, this is a double challenge. We must first meet the environmental challenges of this massive project. Obviously, for such a project, it is of prime importance to ensure that the safety of the ships that have reached the bridge so far up to 5,000 ships / year and the safety of the bridge itself should be the primary factor. Then we must also use scientific methods to meet the challenges of technical problems. Previous research has shown that the span and pier depth required to construct a suitable bridge in this channel may well exceed what has been achieved to date. Therefore, the question arises whether such a record-breaking scale can be achieved by modern science and technology. This paper argues that a suitable solution for the Strait of Gibraltar that is safe, economical and meets environmental requirements can be found. Thus moving this cause one step further. I hope this article can lead to constructive comments and comments so that the final solution can truly represent the optimal solution provided by the entire engineering community. It is hoped that this article will help the engineering community move forward in a global, interdisciplinary, creative and scientific way to make leaps and bounds, if necessary, rather than just gradual, small step by step Step to expand its capabilities. It is in this way that humankind has made tremendous progress in technologies like the moon, and in the same way mankind will build an ultra-long bridge span and ultra-deep piers of unprecedented scale.
