20世纪80年代,在日本掀起的“《菜根谭》热”使得这部成书于晚明时期的语录体清言集广受世界关注。自1926年首次翻译成英文版后,至今已有十余种《菜根谭》英译版本存世。但目前对其英译本展开的研究甚少,笔者从《菜根谭》英译史的整理过程中选取三个关键译本,基于对三个译本词汇、语篇以及译本设计三个方面的对比分析,围绕典籍英译中文化负载词、修辞以及副文本的处理等问题进行讨论。
In the 1980s, the “Genkan” hot “set off in Japan caused this world-wide concern to the quotation discourse set forth in the late Ming period. Since its first translation into English in 1926, more than ten English versions of ”Gentiane“ have been published. However, there are few researches on its English translation at present. The author selects three key translations from the finishing process of the English translation history of ”Cai Gen Tan". Based on the comparative analysis of the three translation versions of the three terms, the text and the translation design, The questions of cultural load words, rhetoric and the processing of sub-texts around English translation of Chinese classics are discussed.
