出太原向南200公里的上党盆地中部,有一座现代化的煤城——山西潞安矿务局。1963年,国家经委在全国工交战线树立了勤俭办企业的5面红旗,潞安矿务局的石圪节煤矿是其中之一。周总理亲自接见了该矿的代表。28年过去了,英雄的潞安人坚持发扬石圪节精神,不断进取、实干,创造了惊人的业绩。以1988年为例,该局许多经济技术指标均超过世界主要产煤国家的先进水平:
