采访钟群鹏院士之前,我通过各种渠道了解得到的信息是:这位年过七旬的工程院院士、北京航空航天大学学术委员会主任,40多年来,一直奋斗在机械装备失效分析、诊断和预测预防的最前沿,从材料环境行为及其安全控制技术领域出发进行了系统的、有开拓性的研究;曾先后主持、参加过500多起包括飞机失事、火箭卫星发射失败、工厂爆炸、大型机电装备发生解体……等重大失效事故分析、诊断和预防决策。当走进了北航钟群鹏院士的办公室,见到了这位面带微笑、精神矍铄的学者,终于能近距离地聆听院士为我们解读“失效学”。

When I walked into the office of Academician Zhong Qunpeng of Beihang University, I saw the smiling and energetic scholar who finally listened to the academicians for our interpretation of “Failure Learning”.
