[World Nuclear News website reported on November 24, 2015] Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on November 23, 2015, allowing Russian companies to provide products, services, and funds for Iran’s civilian uranium enrichment program. On the same day, Putin arrived in Tehran for an official visit. During the visit, he held talks with Iranian President Hasan Luhani and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and attended a forum for natural gas exporters. This is Putin’s first official visit to Iran since 2007. The decree issued by Russia on November 23 stipulates that the ban on the use of Russian goods, materials, and equipment for Iranian uranium enrichment activities will no longer be effective.
