Objective To investigate the clinical effect and significance of different methods in the detection of urinary microalbuminuria. Methods Urine microalbuminuria in 55 type 2 diabetic patients (observation group) and 50 healthy controls (reference group) were analyzed by nephelometry and dry chemical method respectively. Results There was no significant difference between the observation group and the reference group (P> 0.05). The results of the dry chemistry method were negative in 36 patients, but the difference between the turbidimetric method and the reference group was statistically significant (P> 0.05) P <0.05). Conclusion There are some differences in the results of urine microalbuminuria test by different methods. When the proteinuria of urine is negative, further testing is needed to ensure that renal injury can be effectively diagnosed.
