解决园地的困难我校过去除有一块极小的园地供給高年級課外种植小組进行栽培活动以外,沒有其他实驗园地,因此手工劳动課上只有工艺,沒有农艺。上学期,学校向全体教师提出,为了貫彻全面发展教育的方針,大力进行結合生产、結合实际的教育,在手工劳动科方面着重研究城市小学如何解决实驗园地的問題。开学以前,我校就在学校附近四处找室地,愿意出一些租金暫时租用,作为孩子們在手工劳动課上的种植园地。可是由于我校环境特殊,位于城市中心地点,商业繁盛,人口稠密,虽然尽了最大努力,却沒有找到一点空地。在这种情况下,只有回轉念头,仍然在校內設法,利用一切可能利用的条件,努力辟建校內园地。經过学校縝密研究,决定把小操場北面原来的花台加以平治,將上面假山乱石搬运到別地。又將花台下面划出一小部分地方,四週圍以木柵欄,連同假山頂上以及院牆的边上,划出四小块的土地,总計面积不到二分。尽管很狹小,总算园地建立起来了。在手工劳动課上,我們就利用这几小块的实驗园地进行示范和分組輪流試点作业,好讓孩子們从試点操作中获得有关的农业知識和操作技能。
