楚雄,中国彝族之源,中国彝族之始,东方人类从这里出发,中国彝族从这里出发。这里是彝族的家园,这里是彝族的根和魂。中国彝族的起源,主要有三种说法,“元谋人说”“楚雄中心说”“古羌人说”。彝族是西南地区的土著民族。2亿年前的楚雄恐龙,800万年前的楚雄禄丰腊玛古猿,170万年前的楚雄元谋人。楚雄彝族先民5000多年前创造了十月太阳历,楚雄出土了国内迄今为止发现的最早的铜鼓。这些,足以证明,楚雄这块热土,是中国彝人之乡。
