为适应深化改革,扩大对外开放的需要,大力发展具有产业群体特色的规模经济,经省人民政府批准,正式建立宜宾经济技术开发区。宜宾经济技术开发区为省级。该区位于宜宾市南岸区,规划开发面积为12平方公里,其中东区7.98平方公里,西区4.02平方公里。按照统一规划,合理布局,分期实施,滚动开发的原则,首期开发南岸东区7.98平方公里。
