温州市瓯海区东濒东海,北靠瓯江,总面积918平方公里,占市区总面积的80%。1995年以来,瓯海区委、区政府提出并实施了以推动城市化为目标,以市区联动发展为导向的温州现代都市“后花园”发展战略,综合经济实力大大增强,城乡面貌发生了巨大变化,跻身全省小康县行列,并列入全省首批实现农业、农村现代化的区(县、市)之一。
