Numerous experiments show how the valve chamber geometry affects valve flow losses, allowing more accurate loss calculations. The total flow loss of the compressor valve is not only affected by the valve geometry but also increased due to valve chamber losses. The results have been expressed in the “valve chamber factor” diagram and the related equations in this article.
