一、品种来源晋谷20号,原代号晋汾27号,系山西省农科院经济作物研究所于1978年冬在海南以晋谷6号为母本、张家口原始材料245为父本杂交育成。1990年完成各级试验。二、特征特性幼苗叶片绿色,叶鞘浅紫;主茎高134.3～139.4厘米;穗长16.7～18.77厘米,穗重18.5克,穗粒重12～15.3克,出谷率平均82.4％;根系发达,抗旱性强过晋谷10号;秆中抗倒;中感谷瘟病,但经历年不同地区试种未见病害。中早熟,生育期113天左右。经山西省农科院中心化验室分析,含蛋白质11.47％,比沁州黄高3.06％;粗脂肪3.57％,比沁州黄高0.05％;赖氨酸0.25％,比沁州黄高0.04％。群众评价适口性好,但米色次于晋汾7号,山区群众嫌其穗小。
