Primetals Technologies, which received orders from Chinese steelmaker Baosteel Zhanjiang Steel Co. Ltd., will provide a Mulpi (c multi-function intermittent cooling) system. The powerful cooling system will be installed on the company’s existing plate mill; the mill is currently moving from Shanghai to Zhanjiang, Guangdong and is scheduled to go into operation in March 2016. The Mulpic system increases cooling rates for precise cooling control, ensures equal metallurgical performance of the steel, and reduces flatness defects.
