To investigate the role of anti-inflammatory substances (IL-10, sTNFR-55 and sTNFR-75) in children with bacterial meningitis and their relationship with inflammatory mediators of cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8) The authors tested these media in 37 children with serum and CSF and studied the kinetics of these mediators in the CSF lacuna and their relationship to CSF characteristics. Children aged 3 months to 18 years old, with an average of 3.3 years old. There were 17 males and 20 females, with the exception of patients treated with antibiotics in advance.
