Beijing Zhongguancun Electronic Street, the birthplace of China’s private-run science and technology industry, is thriving. Sitong, ICT, Jinghai, Kehai, and Huahai ... have a large number of eye-catching company signs, a new one; a new batch of newly-established technology companies are preparing for renovations. In the recent weak market and difficult circumstances of some enterprises, the private technology industry here has maintained its momentum of development. According to relevant statistics, the total number of private scientific and technical institutions in Beijing has increased since early 1989. The current rectification of governance is a severe test for civilian-run science and technology industries. In the past few years, there were indeed a few people in civilian-run science and technology institutions who used private offices.
