这是谭其骧先生现存日记中最早的一册,此前只留下极少的片断。所用日记本为小64开紫红漆布硬面记事本,封面有烫金“学习”二字及“上海学联文化用品代供销站”一行。首页印红色双行口号“抗美援朝,保家卫国”,第二页为毛泽东黑白照片。扉页谭先生自题:“五一年十月至五二年四月土改与思想改造”,盏有“复旦大学工会”蓝印,下签“1951、10”,估计为参加土改所发工作手册。土改部分起1951年10月27日自安微省五河县出发,止1952年2月5日在上海复旦大学寓所完成总结,当时他是复旦大学历史系教授。思想改造部分无日记,仅所听报告、他人发言、本人发言及总结的摘要记录。日记均用蓝黑墨水书写,少数日期颠倒,据日记系出于补记。兹据原文录出,极个别无法辨认的字以口号表示,园括号及其中的字是原有的,方括号及其中的字为整理者所注。日记中涉及的土改队方面人名一般均以×号代替,少数人名保留并在首次出现时注明身份,当地人名均保留。少量无关内容作了删节,删节处以……代替
