在清初理学清算运动背景下,颜元对孟子思想的解读秉持“弃虚蹈实”的主旨。颜元在其孟学研究中批判宋明儒之人性论,提出一元人性论;注重从实学、习行的角度论学;挖掘孟子思想中的实学内容。颜元孟学研究的特点和创新与清初实学思潮之间具有深刻的内在联系。因此,从时代思潮与学人思想的互动角度看,钱穆关于颜元学术思想的有关论述尚有值得商榷之处。
