In 1989, Chengdu artists Dai Guangyu, Li Jixiang and Wang Faolin participated in “China Modern Art Exhibition” held at the China Art Museum. It now appears to be the earliest attempt at Chengdu’s “New Vision” art. Chengdu is a city with a deep tradition of painting and a large number of outstanding painters in Chengdu who graduated from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts to carry forward this tradition. Until the 1980s, the most extensive art group in the country was formed. This group has no theory, no slogan, only a solid foundation of art, and a sense of creative thinking that is sensitive to change. They are independent of the 80’s of schools, theories and academic disputes, and they are different from each other in their artistic ecologies in the new century . So far, Chengdu oil painters are still the most concerned groups in the art market and international collectors.
