患儿发育迟缓,智能低下。国外许多国家已于80年代初就开展了普遍地筛查。我国每年出生婴儿有2千万,发病率较高,因此筛查有利于国家和家庭,社会效益和经济效益很高。目前国内已具备开展更大区域的筛查的条件。先天性甲低症是儿童常见的内分泌疾病之一,由甲状腺发育异常或甲状腺素合成过程发生障碍等原因引起。患儿因生理功能低下,而导致生长发育迟缓,智能低下。
