Inspired by the towering tree of a Fortune Insurance Company tower project, the roots cling to the surface. The tower spreads out on the base. With the increase in body mass, the shape is gradually thinner and more elegant. The vertical asymptote adds a touch of elegance to the skyline of the city. The contrast between the structural foundation and the upper area becomes more apparent due to the “bark” treatment in the tree structure. As the volume of buildings rises, the wider “wood chips” of lower floors are gradually replaced by smooth walls. The glass façade at the bottom forms a mirror effect that reflects the color of the sky and the surrounding environment. Located at the exit of Osaka’s main train station, the building is set to become an eternal landmark in urban landscapes.
