对诗画问题的研究,是中西方艺术家所共同感兴趣的。没有人会否定在艺术史上,它曾经或者仍在激发中西艺术家的热情。但是,在这层共同热情的大幕布后面,中西艺术家们对诗画问题的理解存在着根本性的差异。如果说西方艺术家是在尽心尽力地为诗、画寻找界限和二者结合的可能性;那么,中国艺术家则是将全身心献给了探察诗、画深处流淌的生命泉流。这种差异性的存在,恐怕不仅仅是一个孤立的形式问题,而应该从中西文化心理和艺术精神的层面上去考察。因为全部的文化学问题,
The study of poetry and painting is of common interest to both Chinese and Western artists. No one will deny that in the history of art, it has or still arouses the enthusiasm of Chinese and Western artists. However, behind this common passionate curtain, there is a fundamental difference between Chinese and Western artists’ understanding of the issue of poetry and painting. If the Western artists are dedicated to the possibility of combining poetry and painting, and the combination of the two, then Chinese artists devote their whole body and mind to the exploration of poetry and the flowing stream of life. The existence of this difference may not only be an isolated form, but should be examined from the perspectives of Chinese and Western cultural psychology and artistic spirit. Because of all the cultural issues,
