The Hull City Council recently announced a restoration plan for a medieval city site in the city that was buried 200 years underground and was discovered only last year, the Beverly Shores Gate. Originally built in the 14th century, it is considered the first British fortification. The gate will be open to visitors for a long time since early 1988 and will be set up around its semi-circular exhibition area for exhibitions to reach the site of the gate at a distance of 3 meters under the street. The decision to repair Beverly’s gates was approved by the invited archaeologists for determining the site of the ancient city. The city council set out to develop a plan to turn the Hull Center into a pedestrian zone and to redevelop the Old Town and Docklands. Beverly Castle Gate site is a part of this plan
