六月十八日至二十一日,湘潭大学徐泰来同志应邀来我校历史科讲学。他专门讲了洋务运动问题。他介绍了目前我国研究洋务运动的情况及国内外对洋务运动研究的关注。他认为,国内外对洋务运动研究关注的原因,主要有二:1、洋务运动研究涉及到我国当前推行的实事求是的路线和对外开放政策,能否实事求是地处理现实问题和评价历史问题;2、洋务运动研究涉及中国近代史原有体系的改造或新建。他着重阐述了中国近代史原有体系的特点。一是以农民革命为主题的所谓“三次革命高潮”;二是以中国人民大众与帝国主义及其走狗的矛盾代替中华民族与帝国主义的矛盾作为中国近代社会的最主要矛盾;
From June 18 to June 21, Comrade Xu Tailai of Xiangtan University was invited to give lectures in the history department of our university. He specialized in the Westernization Movement. He introduced the current situation of studying the Westernization Movement in our country and the concerns both at home and abroad on the study of the Westernization Movement. He believes that there are mainly two reasons for the study of the Westernization Movement at home and abroad: 1. The study of the Westernization Movement involves the realistic and open-door policy currently practiced in our country, whether it can handle realistic problems and evaluate historical issues in a realistic manner; Westernization movement research involves the transformation or new construction of the original system of modern Chinese history. He focused on the characteristics of the original system of modern Chinese history. First, the so-called “three revolution climaxes” with the peasant revolution as the theme; second, taking the contradiction between the Chinese people and imperialism and their lackeys instead of the contradiction between the Chinese nation and imperialism as the most important contradiction in modern Chinese society;
