年画起源于古代的门神画。滩头年画是湖南省唯一的手工木版年画,产地在湖南省宝庆(现为邵阳)隆回滩头镇。其种类在最盛期达六十多种,现存二十余种。多以祝福新年的喜庆丰登,免除灾祸的古老民间习俗为题材,反映了人们对生活的美好祝愿和精神寄托。滩头年画分为神像、吉祥如意和故事三大类。从明末清初到民国初年,滩头年画逐步形成了自己独特的艺术风格和色彩形式:艳丽、润泽的色彩,古拙、夸张、饱满、个性化的造型,纯正的乡土材料和独到的工艺,使作品具有浮雕一般的艺术效果,成为湖南民间艺术宝库中一颗璀璨的明珠。
New Year paintings originated in the ancient door god painting. The New Year pictures are the only hand-made woodcut pictures in Hunan Province. The origin is in Longtan Beach, Baoqing (now Shaoyang) in Hunan Province. Its species in the peak of more than 60 species, the existing more than 20 species. Beach New Year is divided into idols, auspicious wishes and stories three categories. From the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, the beach first year paintings gradually formed its own unique artistic style and color form: gorgeous, moist color, ancient, exaggerated, full, personalized styling, pure native materials and unique craftsmanship, The work has embossed the general artistic effect, a treasure of Hunan folk art in a bright pearl.
