咏歌是咏唱、咏赞和歌颂,讴歌之意;批判是遇仇敌批而杀之、遇患难批惠折难而加判决。咏歌重于情,批判重于意。两者不属同一范畴,但有相通之处。1949~1973年,毛泽东写的诗填的词,蕴含着咪歌与批判两道母题。当然,这两道母题在这一时段并非同时出现,而以1959年6月25日的《七律·登庐山》为界碑。之前为咪歌的抒写,之后为批判的呐喊。毛泽东的诗词,基本上是与他的政治路线图和实施原则捆绑在一起的。
