微处理器与微计算机是本世纪重大科技成就之一,它们的出现,大大地推进了新的技术革命。制造微处理器和单片微机芯片,标志着半导体工艺发展到了大规模、超大规模集成的阶段。将微计算机作为典型的数字系统,更是为数字电子学开拓出崭新的领域和更为广阔壮丽的前景。由于微计算机具有可编程的特点,使它较传统的硬接线数字逻辑系统更灵活,适应性强,应用广,功能多,再加上它具有体积小、重量轻、可靠性高、成本低、功耗小等优点,因而可以节省许多传统的硬接线数字逻辑系统,在国民经济各个领域乃至日常生活中发挥越来越重要的作用。微处理器与微计算器迅猛发展和广泛应用的形势必然要求有关教材及时地反映并普及。
