Objective To investigate the significance of detection of CA19-9, CEA, COX-2, EGFR and VEGF in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods Sixty-two patients with colorectal cancer were enrolled in this study. Serum levels of CA19-9 and CEA in colorectal cancer patients were detected by ELISA. The expressions of COX-2, EGFR and VEGF in colorectal cancer tissues were detected by immunohistochemical staining. Colorectal tissue as a control. Results The positive expression rates of CA19-9 and CEA were 40.3% and 50% respectively in 62 patients. The higher the positive rate was, the higher the positive rate was. The positive expression rates of EGFR and VEGF were 48.4% and 54.8%, respectively, which were positively correlated with tumor stage, lymph node metastasis and tumor size. The positive expression rate of COX-2 was also 58.1% Cancer Dukes’ stage, lymphatic metastasis, tumor size is positively correlated. Conclusion These 5 items are complementary markers. Combined detection can increase the positive detection rate of colorectal cancer, and the expression of VEGF and EGFR are correlated. Detecting these indexes can not only judge the prognosis, but also guide the treatment.
