英山县桃花冲林场位于鄂东大别山腹地,约东经115°58′,北纬30°01′,面积4万多亩。这里地形复杂,地貌切割厉害,垂直变化大。气候温和,雨量充沛,云雾环绕。夏季极端最高温度才31℃,年平均温度12—14℃,年降雨量1400mm。得天独厚的自然环境,很适合于植物的生长发育,再加之当地林场和政府部门比较重视,某些地段的植被保存良好。
