西德在二十年代末三十年代初开始制造和使用组合机床。在第二次世界大战期间,在军工生产方面比较广泛地采用了组合机床,以适应西德军国主义侵略战争的需要,但当时的组合机床,还是属于通用化程度不高的专用机床。从六十年代初起,西德的组合机床在产量和技术水平方面,都有了新的发展。到目前为止,西德组合机床及其自动线的设计和技术水平,从现有的报道来看,仅次于美国,在欧洲占首位。
West Germany began manufacturing and using combined machine tools in the late 1920s and early 1930s. During the Second World War, more extensive use of combined machine tools in military production was made to meet the needs of the West Germany militaristic war of aggression. However, the combined machine tool of the time belonged to a less general-purpose machine tool. Since the early 1960s, West Germany’s combination machine tools have seen new developments in output and technology. So far, the design and technical level of the West Germany combined machine tool and its automatic lines, from the existing reports, is second only to the United States and the highest in Europe.
