Pituitary cells (Pituicytes) are a specialized differentiated glial in the neurohypophysis. Distributed in the nerve leaf, funnel handle and the median bulge. It is closely related to the neurosecretory fibers of the hypothalamus-pituitary gland. Protrusion of the common pituitary cells wrap around small neurosecretory fibers.
