希土元素的性质都很近似,其分离和提纯是无机化学中较困难的问题之一。由于希土元素及其化合物在现代科学技术上的特殊重要性,故最近很多单位在这方面进行了不少的工作。铈为希土元素之一,比较普遍和常见,我系在勤工俭学工作中已有少量生产,这次我们将科学研究与生产劳动结合了起来,对制取光谱纯氧化铈的工作作了初步的研究。
