Government representatives from 11 East African countries will discuss the second phase of the Africa-Caribbean-Pacific (ACP) fisheries project to strengthen fisheries management. According to new horizons, the project started in 2009 and was funded by the European Commission to help beneficiary countries alleviate poverty and improve food security through sustained and equitable management of fishery resources. The project is for a period of 5 years, costing 30 million euros. The beneficiary countries will plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the project and increase the national wealth by increasing the export of aquatic products. The project will be implemented in the following contexts: improvement of fishery policies, legislation and management at the national or regional level, improvement of regulatory and control capacity,
