在作物品种改良中,获得高产、优质、抗逆的新品种,总是以丰富的遗传变异材料为前提的,遗传变异是任何作物育种工作的先决条件。在不同的品种中,某一特征的遗传力、选择强度和遗传优势直接影响着遗传变异的幅度,因此筛选高变异率的材料是非常重要的,而丰富的基因库又为这种选择提供了可能。如何提高作物的遗传变异性,目前的研究工作已从个体水平向细胞水平、分子水平发展。
