Introduction The British Industrial Revolution, which began in the 18th century, swept across the European continent and overseas for 120 years. Although it can not be said that it has changed the outlook on the world and the universe, it has changed the Western society and lifestyles. The heart of the industrial revolution is a series of technological changes that change in turn. At present, most of the Western world is in a post-industrialized society, or a technologically-oriented and informative society. Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, there has been a steady stream of technological advances, most of which have been carefully documented in world patents, the real arsenal of intelligence upon which much of the world’s industry is progressing.
