上海第三钢铁厂薄板车间原有6座链式加热炉,这些炉子的炉型结构是比较落后的,经过热平衡测试结果表明:该炉子的炉链和炉爪带走热损失严重,空、煤气预热温度低,炉墙绝热差,炉尾吸冷风严重,炉子的煤气消耗高。另外,操作环境恶劣。针对上述情况,1984年结合车间大修对两座链式加热炉炉型结构进行全面改造。以节能型的步进底式加热炉,并采用多行程空气和煤气管状对流换热器,配以高风温、全热风低压涡流烧咀取代热效率低的链式加热炉。经过一年多生产实践证明,节能效果明显,节能34%左右。炉子可比单耗分别达到了0.3048×10~6kcal/t和0.3361×10~6kcal
