广丛是一个籼型半矮秆品种，其携带的矮生基因为ｓｄ－ｓ（ｇ）。用赤霉素（ＧＡ３）处理的试验结果表明，它对ＧＡ３反应是敏感的。对ＧＡ３反应敏感性的遗传分析表明：广丛和矮仔粘、８０－７０１０杂交组合的Ｆ２个体呈连续单峰次数分布，而与雪禾矮早杂交组合的Ｆ２个体是连续双峰次数分布，表现为３高∶１矮。
Guang Cong is an indica semi-dwarf breed, carrying the dwarf gene sd-s (g). Test results with GA3 showed that it is sensitive to GA3.
