一、刊播媒介面窄尽管我国刊播书评的媒体数量较之10年20年前大有增加,但与我国数量庞大的大众传媒相比,刊播书评的媒体的数量还是不多的,况且这些媒体刊播的书评,或受众面窄,或刊期少,或数量少,有的是零星点缀之作,有的是稿件不足且作补版面之需。可以看出,对于大多数媒体来说,刊播书评没有作为一项专门的制度化的工作来做。因而,书评覆盖率低,很难满足图书出版业评介、广布新书的需求,广大读者也不容易及时有效地了解新书出版情况。相比较而言,美国的大众传媒比较重视书评工作。比如《纽约时报》,每天都有书评,每周合计共发书评40-50篇,全年累计达2300篇以上;又如《洛杉矶时报》,平日发1-2篇书评,周六出书评增刊,全年累计书评1300-1500篇。
