2000年8月10日,北京体育大学教师张健成功地横渡了渤海海峡,创造了男子横渡海峡最长距离的世界纪录,完成了人类挑战自身极限的壮举。他成为家喻户晓的人物,并进入了北京2008年奥申委。随后,张健宣布,将在今年以一种独特的方式为北京申奥助威:只身横渡英吉利海峡。
On August 10, 2000, Zhang Jian, a teacher at Beijing Sport University, successfully crossed the Bohai Strait and created a world record for men to cross the longest possible distance across the Strait, completing the feat of humankind’s own challenges. He became a household name and entered the 2008 Beijing Olympic Committee. Subsequently, Zhang Jian announced that it will cheer for the Beijing Olympics in a unique way this year: crossing the English Channel alone.
